(Monday, 01/04/2024)On March 30th, a colorful event filled with kindness adorned the Putri Aisyiyah Orphanage located at Jl. Mayjen Mt. Haryono Gg. III no 231A, Dinoyo, Lowokwaru District, Malang City. This event was initiated by the Student Association of the Fine Arts Department at Brawijaya University, aiming to enliven togetherness and share love with the orphanage children. The event took place from 2:00 PM until after the Isya prayer or Tarawih time, demonstrating the organizers’ earnestness in providing valuable experiences for the orphanage children.
This kindness-themed event wouldn’t have been possible without support from various parties, especially the fine arts community as the primary donors. The Fine Arts Student Association also contributed a donation of 650 thousand rupiahs, as well as providing snacks and wearable clothing, all of which were donated to the orphanage. Collaboration with the orphanage was also well-established, particularly in welcoming this event with joy and enthusiasm.

The activities began with a warm welcome from the event organizers and the orphanage caretakers, opening the doors to happiness for all attendees. The orphanage children were equally enthusiastic, engaging in various activities such as a clay pin-making workshop, alongside opportunities to play and learn together. Additionally, the event included quizzes, games, and sharing sessions between the orphanage children and fine arts students.
As Maghrib approached, the organizers and children gathered in the prayer room for dhikr and to await the time for breaking the fast. Fruit ice was chosen as a refreshing option to quench thirst before continuing with the congregational Maghrib prayer, greeted with boundless joy. After prayer, the event concluded with the distribution of boxed meals and snacks as a cheerful closing feast

The highlight of the event was the distribution of prizes to the orphanage children who excelled in various games and quizzes held. Before bidding farewell, the organizers took the opportunity to capture moments with the orphanage children and symbolically hand over the collected donations. The warmth and camaraderie that was fostered throughout the event left the Fine Arts Student Association organizers satisfied, despite the energy-draining preparations amidst the busy midterm exams and Ramadan month.
A sweet moment occurred during the farewell, as the orphanage children continued to wave goodbye with enthusiasm, accompanying the departure of the Fine Arts Student Association organizers from the orphanage premises. This serves as evidence that kindness and love are not only offered on a single occasion but also leave a profound impact on all involved.
