UB Fine Arts Student Whose Work Made it to the 1st Grey Annual Award 2024

(Wed, 20/03/24) From January 19th to March 8th, 2024, a prestigious art gallery in Bandung, Grey Art Gallery, held a first annual award, Grey Annual Award. The event was part of a competition or otherwise known widely as an open call art submission whose registration opened on November 25th, 2023. Selected works were displayed at the Grey Art Gallery, located at Jl. Braga no. 47, Bandung.

Quoting from the Instagram page @greyartgallery47, this event was an art competition focusing on artistic expression with an emphasis on creating monochromatic works: referring to the use of variations in brightness or darkness in grayscale or black and white. A total of 115 curated works from all over Indonesia were showcased, and one of them belonged to Anung Ariyanti, a Fine Arts student from FIB UB, class of 2020.

Anung Ariyanti, often called Anung, mentioned that her painting titled “Behind the Scene” successfully passed the curation by the Grey Art Gallery team last November. These curated works will not only be exhibited but also competed in several categories, with cash prizes ranging from Rp. 15,000,000 to Rp. 100,000,000 as the main prizes.

The exhibition was open to the public from January 19th, 2024, until the Awarding Night held on March 8th, 2024.
