HISTORY
The Fine Arts Study Programme is one of the Educational Units under the auspices of the Department of Arts and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Cultural Sciences. Established in 2011 with the Chairman of his first study program was Fatmawati, M.Sn and currently is Prof. Dr. Zuliati Rohmah, M.Pd.. The beginning of the establishment of art study program only had a few new student enthusiasts, in contrast to the current situation that has at least 2 full classes. In 2017, based on rector decree number 312 / SK / 2011, pure art study program is incorporated into one with anthropology study program under the auspices of the department of Arts and Cultural Anthropology.
The Study Program received a permit for the implementation of Education through the Decree of the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia No. 595 / E / O / 2014. The Fine arts Study Program has been accredited by BAN PT (National Accreditation Board of Higher Education) with accreditation status B, certificate number 792/ SK / BAN-PT / Akred / S / VIII / 2015, then internationally accredited by AQAZ (Agency for Quality Assurance through Accreditation of Study Programs) on May 27, 2024 to March 31, 2029.
In its application, this study program has 3 special interests that can be taken by new students. Among them are Painting, Sculpture, Graphic Arts and many other subjects such as Nirmana, Illustrated Drawings, Sket Drawings, History of Fine Art, Photography, etc. Now the Fine Arts Study Program has developed into a well-known visual arts Education unit in malang city area It has 5 studios for fine art practice as well as 1 separate gallery as a facility for art exhibition space for students.
Many fine arts activities and events involving fine arts students or alumni. All thanks to hard work and the same work that is very solid between institutions and students, hopefully in the future the fine art study program becomes even more developed.
