It’s been a week since the Student Art Week (Peksima) at Brawijaya University began. Preparation for this event started long before. One week before the official opening, the Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB) had already opened selection to find students who would represent the faculty at Peksima.
The Vice Dean 3 along with the judges played a crucial role in this selection process. After careful consideration, they decided to delegate Fine Arts students in several competition categories: painting, photography, and comic strips. The announcement of this delegation was met with enthusiasm and tremendous support from the selected Fine Arts students.
In the painting category, FIB sent its three best representatives: Thariq and Galang from the 2021 batch, and Mega from the 2022 batch. They are known for their talent and high dedication in painting, thus, they are expected to uphold the faculty’s good name in this competition.
For the photography category, FIB delegated Alwi from the 2019 batch and Surya from the 2022 batch. Both have shown outstanding achievements in the field of photography during their studies and are expected to capture the best moments in this competition.
Meanwhile, in the comic strip category, FIB was represented by Restiwi from the 2022 batch. Restiwi has shown extraordinary creativity and skills in making comic strips, thus, she is expected to give her best performance at Peksima.
The participation of Fine Arts students in this year’s Peksima shows their spirit and dedication in the field of art. Support from the faculty and their friends serves as additional motivation to excel in this competition. Hopefully, the delegates from FIB can bring home remarkable achievements and honor the Faculty of Cultural Sciences and Brawijaya University.
