Dedicated Aesthetic #2 is the 2nd annual exhibition of Fine Arts Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya. The exhibition, which was opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Studies Prof. Ir. Ratya Anindita, Ph.D, was held on December 11-18, 2016 on the 2nd floor of the Faculty of Cultural Studies with the theme “Rambate Rata Hayo” which means togetherness or mutual cooperation.
The exhibitors consisted of a selection of works by students, lecturers, and invited artists from Malang and Batu City. The exhibition presented 14 works by invited artists, 8 works by lecturers and 20 works by students. The event, which was attended by 2600 visitors, is expected to be a medium for art consolidation and communication between senior, young and campus artists both institutionally and personally.
Mrs. Femi Eka Rahmawati, S.Sn, M.Pd as the head of the Fine Arts Study Program expressed her hope that later both academics and art practitioners will work together, not only through works, but also in the form of discourse, studies and culture. He also said that the Dedicated Aesthetic #2 event received very good appreciation from the artists who saw the purpose of this exhibition as a new breakthrough in the art world. The artists added that through this exhibition, students are expected to be able to add insight in applying their scientific studies in the future, especially in art.
