INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION IN UNIVERSITY NEW SOUTH WALES (UNSW SYDNEY) AUSTRALIA

The exhibition in Sydney Australia was held on October 31 at UNSW (Kensington Campus), and November 1 at a joint building in the Lakemba area of Sydney. The two-day activity received good appreciation from visitors, as evidenced by their interest in the products on display, especially batik products.

This exhibition is the result of creative products based on subjects from the fine arts study program of Universitas Brawijaya. The subject-based product exhibition was attended by students with the agreed subjects being Basic Painting and Creation of East Java Fine Art Traditions. In these two courses, the theme developed in the product is to promote the image of Malang city and East Java culture. The number of students involved is approximately 60 people, these students come from different batches, namely students in the 2020 and 2021 academic years.

This creative product was developed in the entrepreneurial area with the aim of being a forum for promoting student products so that they can motivate and see opportunities to create businesses that come from student ideas through courses. The product of the Basic Painting course focuses on making interior products by making A3 size works using paper, poster paint, acrylic and pencil as basic materials. The theme focuses on highlighting the uniqueness of Brawijaya University and the temple in Malang. While the product of the Jatim Fine Art Tradition Creation course focuses on making products with batik techniques. The products are made in the form of sheets with a size of 2.5m and raise culture, icons in each region in East Java such as puppets, Malangan masks and other regional icons in East Java.

There were 10 painting products represented by Ilma Dhuha Jacinda, Aulia Zulfa Soraya Putri, Dzikrillah Ummat, Dwi Nur Farida, Iftahus Sa’idah, Dian Kandi Hartanti and Windy Rezalina. While batik products are represented by 7 groups where batik products are exhibited in the form of written batik with various color variations.
