(25/08/24) Every year, the Student Association of the Fine Arts Program organizes an illustration competition titled “Illusion (Illustration Competition).” This year, the theme is “Living in the Colors of Dreams.” With this theme, the Fine Arts Program Student Association of UB invites participants to express their long-held imagination and creativity.

The competition series began on July 3, 2024, and ran until August 2, 2024, with the announcement of the best works taking place on August 3, 2024. The best works from the competition were exhibited at SAC Gallery, Faculty of Cultural Studies, UB, from August 21, 2024, to August 24, 2024.

On August 19, before the exhibition commenced, the winners of Illusion 2024 were announced. This year’s winners are:

  • Chistabel Davina Hario – 1st Place, with the artwork titled “Dream Painting”
  • Yunan Pramudita Alan N – 2nd Place, with the artwork titled “Steps Toward the Door of Dreams”
  • Mikaiyla Rosalina Basaria S – 3rd Place, with the artwork titled “Harmony of Voices on the Stage of Dreams”

As the finale of Illusion 2024, an exhibition showcasing the top 25 works was held. Additionally, there were several other works by Fine Arts students, and notably, the participation of many new Fine Arts students, which was highly commendable.

The “Living in the Colors of Dreams” exhibition was opened on August 21, 2024, by the Head of the Fine Arts Program, Faculty of Cultural Studies, UB, Prof. Dr. Zuliati Rohmah, M.Pd., and was met with enthusiastic responses from visitors. In addition to showcasing the winners’ works, the exhibition also featured interactive spaces where visitors could write messages and draw their faces.

The organizing committee expressed their heartfelt gratitude to all the visitors who continuously came to appreciate the works. Over the four days of Illusion, the exhibition attracted more than 400 visitors. The committee stated that this year’s Illusion made them proud, but this pride won’t stop here. They hope that next year’s Illusion will be even more successful than this year’s.
