Intergenerational Trauma
as an Idea for digital painting creation
By : Yuri Masserungke
Intergenerational trauma is the habits that the previous generation passes on to the next generation because of the people’s unfinished traumas. It can be because they are used to living with it, or there is no one to help them deal with and heal from the trauma.
Many people do not realize this. Even the smallest thing, everyone deserves to be treated as a social human being, and respected by others as they should be. As older people, we should be more aware of the things that we should not delegate or show to people who are younger than us. Let alone make it a source of treating people younger than us arbitrarily.
Even so, the chain of intergenerational trauma can be broken by being more loving and by trying to understand each other better. However, of course, not everything taught or practiced by previous generations is negative or bad. Everything must have a good side and a bad side, so we must always be able to choose, that is, we must take the good and discard the bad.
