Alihwana Poetry Based for Creating Sculptures
By : Ahmad Annas Aghna
A mother is someone who has brought us into the world with all her struggles and drops of sweat. There is no one who can replace the position of a mother in our hearts, nor what she has given us. In addition, Mother is a woman who was first encountered in the world, although we have not been able to see what is around us, but Mother’s warm embrace is the first thing we feel. The mother who is the basis for the idea of creating this sculpture will be focused on the figure of my own biological mother. She, with full awareness and conviction, has prayed for the good, safety, health, and success of her child. However, there are things that can be analyzed from the prayers that she prayed for me. The prayers have been written with full appreciation in the form of poetry. Some of the poems really touched my heart, and there were no words to say afterwards.
In terms of materials, all the sculptures are made of pottery. A total of 13 sculptures were produced, varying in size. The 13 sculptures consist of 2 series, namely 1 series entitled Rich in Praise, Womb of Hope, Shining Wound, and Containing Light. The other series, The Jewelled Tower for Camellias, consists of 3 sculptures. The other six sculptures are panel works with the title Achieving Glory. All the sculptures are visualized in the form of female figures.
