A Look at the Lively Exhibition of Fine Arts Student Assignments FIB UB
(23/02/2024) On December 11, 2023, Fine Arts Universitas Brawijaya held a cross-generation student exhibition entitled Tumpah Ruah Art Exhibition at the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Universitas Brawijaya. The event lasted for two weeks with the division of Term 1 and Term 2 and was enlivened by the Faculty of Cultural Studies, Lecturers, all Fine Arts Students and the public.
The Tumpah Ruah exhibition was the closing lecture of the Odd Semester 2023/2024, where the assignments of Fine Arts students were displayed in the Self Access Center (SAC) Gallery Room, Faculty of Cultural Studies Building A, Universitas Brawijaya. The event was opened with remarks from the Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Dr. Aji Setyanto, S.S., M.LITT. and the Head of Fine Arts Study Program, Prof. Dr. Zuliati Rohmah, M.Pd.. Not only that, in the opening session there was a performance from one of the student groups of the Body in Art Practice Course.
After the welcome session, the ribbon cutting was carried out by the Vice Dean, Head of Study Program, and UB Fine Arts Lecturers. Not only that, Studio Dinding Luar (SDL) as the external partner of Dadang Rukmana and Achmadi Budi Santoso also attended the opening of Tumpah Ruah Art Exhibition. Most interestingly, there were several works from students that were sold on the opening day.
The opening and Termin 1 Exhibition was held from December 11-15, 2023 by presenting 7 UB Pure Fine Arts Course projects, namely: Human Anatomy Drawing, Sketching, Shape Drawing, Knowledge of Painting Materials, Drawing Art, Printmaking relief print, and Body in Art Practice.
After Termin 1 was carried out, then continued Termin 2 which took place on December 18-22, 2023 which presented the UB Pure Fine Arts Course project, but this time there was one collaboration course between the Pure Fine Arts Study Program, Japanese Language Education, and English Education, namely the Pancasila Course with the theme Shakti Rupa Panca Sunyata. The course projects presented by Fine Arts students in Term 2 are: Nirmana Dwimatra, Photography, East Java Fine Art Creation, Malangan Ceramic Art, and Environmental Art. The enthusiasm of the audience from outside the Faculty of Cultural Sciences was very busy, the exhibition was attended by many general public who were interested in seeing the stunning works that had been curated.
The closing of the Tumpah Ruah Art Exhibition was closed by a series of work reviews from the Pancasila Course group and poetry reading from Yohanes Padmo Adi Nugroho, S.S., M.Hum. as the Lecturer of Pancasila Course. Not only that, several other series of events such as the release and book review “Bukan Sekedar Merek Jeans dan Lukisan Pemandangan” by writer and art curator, Wahyudin on December 20, 2023, as well as Work Discussion “Kota, Landmark & Identity” with Mukmin Ahmad Soge held with Malang Festival Performance Art Community on December 22, 2023.
